2. Is EIS free? Yes, EIS is offered at no cost. However, parents are required to volunteer twice a year at BINGO. The proceeds from these volunteer efforts help fund the school.
3. What happens if I miss my BINGO volunteer shift? A $100 deposit is required per child. If a parent misses their scheduled BINGO date, the deposit will be kept. If the parent attends as scheduled, the $100 is refunded. This helps ensure everyone sticks to their commitment.
4. What is the PTA chat group? PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association. All parents are encouraged to join the PTA chat group, usually hosted on WhatsApp. It’s a quick and easy way to get updates about the school, including weekly announcements. These messages are also sent by email.
5. If my child is sick or will be absent, who should I contact? Each weekly message includes teacher contact information. Please email your child’s teacher directly to report any absences. Email is the preferred method.
6. I don’t have a computer. Is there a Chromebook available from EIS? Yes, EIS has Chromebooks available to borrow. If you need one, please email the school at eis@icaedmonton.com and someone will follow up with you.
7. Are there books for purchase at the school? Yes, some classes require specific books to support learning. Please contact your child’s teacher directly for the most up-to-date information, as this may change.
8. Are there summer programs for EIS students? Yes, EIS usually offers summer activities for students. Since these programs may vary from year to year, keep an eye on announcements via email or the PTA WhatsApp group for the latest updates.
9. Can we register anytime during the school year? Yes. EIS registration is announced across all ICAE platforms. If you're looking to register outside the usual registration period, please send an email to the school, and someone will follow up with you directly.
10. How do I know which class I should place my child?
Account Setup and Class Placement:
After registration, EIS will contact you to set up your child's account. Class placement is determined by age:
- Class A: 5-7 years old
- Class B: 8-11 years old
- Class C: 12 years old and above
These classes are designed for beginners. Intermediate classes are available for students who have completed the beginners' level.
11. What is the schedule for classes like? When are the classes held?

12. What happens if my child misplaces or damages the Chromebook?
Property Responsibility
- Loaned EIS Property: Students are responsible for the safekeeping of loaned property, including Chromebooks.
- Misplacement or Damage: Monetary penalties will apply for misplaced or damaged property. ICAE will contact you for further details.
